Abstract

The report is limited to problems of a potentially adverse nature that are inherent when banks offer numerous and diverse services or products. The paper is concerned with three topics. The first is possible adverse impacts from wider service lines. The second is the relationship of these impacts to market structure conditions. The third is the possible efficacy of the antitrust enforcement and bank regulations in countervailing adverse impacts. (Author)
