Occupational Choice, The Draft, and The Excess Supply of Air Force Volunteers,

Abstract

The paper has developed a model of military enlistment behavior based on the principle of occupational choice. While not measuring tastes directly, the author observed the enlistment decisions of individual and then related variations in enlistment behavior to variations in the present values of military and civilian earnings, thus, theoretically deriving a supply curve of Air Force volunteers.
