The UHFM Language.

Abstract

There are a number of computer systems that allow the user to manipulate expressions and obtain non-numeric, as well as numeric, results. However, for the occasional user, these systems may be somewhat complex. For this reason, UHFM (University of Houston Formula Manipulator) has been developed. This language allows the user to define and manipulate expressions using a notation similar to the one he would use when writing such expressions by hand. Curve-fitting by the method of least squares is also included in this system. This manual explains the use of the language. (Author)
