A Study on the Venomous Fishes and Sea Snakes of Southeast Asia.
Abstract
The report is a continuation of a long-term study that was initiated on May 1, 1967 for the purpose of studying the venomous fishes and sea snakes of Southeast Asia. This final report covers the interum period from the last Final Report dated 10 March 1969. Laboratory research as been conducted and completed on the venom organs of the following fishes: Sebastes constellatus, S. dalli, S. goodei, S. helvomaculatus, S. levis, S. miniatus, S. nebulosus, S. serricepts, S. eos, S. maliger, S. paucipinis, S. semicinctus, S. auriculatus, S. elongatus, S. helvomaculatus, S. miniatus, Scomberoides santipetri, Teuthis vulpinus, T. chrysospilos, T. corallinus, T. doliatus, T. fuscescens, T. lineatus, T. punctatus, T. puellus, and T. rostratus. Work is in progress on the scorpionfish Inimicus barbatus, I. filamentosus, and the sea snake Lapemis hardwicki.
