Reptiles and Amphibians on Edgewood Arsenal's Chemical Agent Test Area.

Abstract

The distribution of each of 25 species of reptiles and amphibians was studied on Carroll Island, the main test area for chemical agents at Edgewood Arsenal. Seven species of turtles, six species of snakes, one species of lizard, two species of salamanders, two species of toads, and seven species of frogs were identified. Distribution of all reptiles and amphibians appeared to be limited only by habitat; the testing of chemical agents did not prohibit the occupancy of suitable areas. (Author)
