Experimental System for the Analysis of Continuously Transforming Impulse Waves.

Abstract

The technical report is intended to serve as a companion to Technical Report No. 11, Miller, 1971, Impulse Waves: Transitions and Ultimate Stable Form. The general system design includes the sensing and recording of the impulse generator parameters, the wave amplitudes and velocity and the wave surface profile. Integration of the volume under a wave is accomplished by using operational amplifiers. Details of the capacitance probe structure is included and calibration curves are given where applicable.
