AN/FPS-16(AX) Radar Modeling and Computer Simulation.

Abstract

Presented are mathematical models and results of a computer simulation of the range and range-rate channels of the AN/FPS-16(AX) radar. The range channel was simulated from return pulse to digital range servo, and included the IF strip, AGC and split range gate. The range-rate channel simulation consisted of the phase-averaging filter, the limiter, the phase detector and the digital phase-rate tracker. The models were validated by comparing noise and lag errors from the simulation with the corresponding theoretical errors. (Author)
