Proceedings of the THEMIS Symposium on Vehicular Dynamics. Held at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois on 11-12 November 1971,

Abstract

The rational design of complex vehicular systems involves a substantial number of simultaneous interrelated decisions and a combination of sophisticated engineering and analytical disciplines. The symposium served as one forum for the presentation and discussion of ongoing research on the dynamics of various mechanisms. Lectures were presented on such topics as flutter phenomena of rotary wings, optimization of structures, air flow over oscillating airfoils, the behavior of layered composites, and weapon system mechanics.
