Dynamic Inelastic Behavior of Materials.

Abstract

The principal subjects investigated were the effects of dynamic, cyclic, and incremental loading on the time dependent response of materials; the repeated discontinuous yielding of metals; formulation and solution of elastic-viscoplastic boundary value problems using an approach analogous to 'dislocation dynamics'; and the mechanics of ballistic penetration. The accomplishments of the program are discussed and the proposed directions of future research are indicated. (Author)
