Molecular Spectroscopy and Brillouin Scattering.
Abstract
The report consists of a series of three papers on high resolution infrared spectroscopy and two papers on Brillouin scattering. The first three discuss the rotational structure observed in the spectrum of the dimer of HF and comments on the structure of (HF)2. For acetylene two papers gove the results of extensive work on the molecular constants with particular emphasis on the bending modes with new data from the 5 micrometers region. The papers on Brillouin scattering review the pre-laser status of this scattering and present new information on sound speeds, breakdown, stikulated gain and the phonon lifetime in the plastics polymethylmethacrylate and polyethylmethacrylate.
