Automatic Informative Abstracting and Extracting.

Abstract

The investigation is concerned with the development of automatic indexing, abstracting, and extracting systems. Basic investigations in English morphology, phonetics, and syntax were pursued as necessary means to this end. Experimental indexing and extracting systems were developed. Investigation of the use of syntax in indexing and of descriptive representation of pictorial data is continuing. (Author)
