Activated Gas Plasma Surface Treatment of Polymers for Adhesive Bonding. Part III.

Abstract

The variation of bond strengths with the time of exposure to excited gases was investigated for the following polymers: POLYOXYMETHYLENE, POLYOXYMETHYLENE COPOLYMER, POLY(4-methyl-1-pentene), low density polyethylene, and polyvinyl fluoride. Sandwich lap shear tensile specimens were assembled using Epon 828/ Versamid 140 (70/30) epoxy adhesives. (P.S.-PL)
