Distorted-Wave Born-Approximation Analysis of the 90Zr(d, alpha) 88Y Reaction and Spectroscopy of 88Y,

Abstract

The report is the second part of the report which describes the initial phase of the project for testing the functions and capabilities of the computer codes available for analyses of the data obtained in the neutron cross section program at this laboratory. In this report emphasis has been placed on the check of the capabilities and usefulness of the computer codes for use in studies of a specific type of the nuclear reaction, that is, two-nucleon transfer reactions. The (d, alpha) reaction has been chosen as a sample case because the present experimental setup is best suited for this reaction with the optimum experimental resolution. Furthermore, the 90Zr(d, alpha) reaction has been chosen because the reaction is the best means for studying the proton- and neutron-hole components of the poorly known 88Y level structure. (Author)
