Distribution of Customer Wait at a Supply Point Whose Inventory Policy is R, Q.
Abstract
The probability distribution of customer delay at a supply point which uses a continuous review R,Q inventory policy is derived. As approximations, the probability expressions are general, but only for compound Poisson distributions are they exact. Measures of the mean and variance of waiting time are developed as examples.
