From 26-29 November 1958 in Moscow in the Institute of Permafrostology imeni V.A. Obruchev at the USSR Academy of Sciences, a scientific conference was held on the questions of estimating the settling of foundations soil (beds) during thawing. The report describes briefly the discussion at the conference.
