Improved Cost Estimating Techniques.

Abstract

Cost estimating, as used in this report, is the technique of forecasting how much the Government will pay for future development and acquisition of hardware, such as for an aircraft, a ship, a tank, or components and parts. Three approaches to cost estimating are briefly described: analogy, parametric, and engineering.
