Controlling of Range-Gated MTI Radar with Digital Techniques.

Abstract

The timing and gating circuitry necessary for twenty channels of range-gated MTI radar was constructed. By the incorporation of a variable delay in the commencement of the range-gate sampling interval it was possible to extend the effective range over which the gates operated. The use of digital techniques with integrated circuits provided a means by which the twenty channels may easily be extended to any number required for a particular radar application. Performance of the circuitry was demonstrated in conjunction with a typical channel of range-gated MTI radar. (Author)
