Bubble distributions in Upper Ocean.

Abstract

A bubble transport equation has been developed that the bubble distribution, as a function of position, velocity, and size, must satisfy. An analytical model for bubble transport in the upper ocean is chosen and solutions are developed for this model. For a surface source only, these solutions compare favorably to experimental data in the near-surface regions. The depth of this region of agreement depends upon the circulation field chosen, but is of the order of 3 meters. (Author)
