A Practical Technique for Developing Maintainability Requirements for Army Systems and a Histogram Data Analysis Technique for Predicting the Results of the Maintainability Demonstration on the System,

Abstract

A practical technique is outlined for developing maintainability requirements for Army systems. Actual field data collected by the Army Tank and Automotive Center on the M141 quarter-ton truck is used for a sample analysis. Results from the practical technique are compared with more accurate statistical methods. After the maintainability requirements are developed, a histogram data analysis technique is outlined for a hypothetical quarter-ton truck to illustrate how the results of the system maintainability demonstration can be predicted.
