A Proposed Computer Program for Procedure 3 of MIL-Handbook 472,
Abstract
The report describes a study of the application of computer methods to the RCA Prediction Technique (Procedure 3) in MIL-HANDBOOK 472. The following points are considered in the paper: Procedure 3 is described in a general manner. Arguments for and against a computerized version are presented. A modification of the current questionnaire form, for computer use, is developed. The instructions for use of the proposed computer version are presented. The restrictions and limitations of the program are spelled out. An example program is run. The flow chart is presented as well as a fictitious set of input data. Recommendations are presented for the possible employment of the general procedures used in developing this prediction technique for the development of analogous techniques for other configurations of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
