Investigating the Dose Field of an Electron Beam,

Abstract

A procedure is presented for calcg. absorbed doses from electron sources (monoenergetic as well as those showing different spectral distribution in the energy interval 25 keV-10 MeV) in tissue equiv. medium. A conversion from one source to another is accomplished in 3 stages which are explained. Results are compared with an expt. performed on a magnetic E monochromator (E energy of 1000 plus or minus 80 keV, beam diam. 10 mm). The dose distribution was studied by using disk scintillators. Results differed by smaller than plus or minus 30 percent. (Author)
