Determining the Extent of the Transition Zone and the Rules for Heat Transfer in It with Mixed Air Flow in Pipes,

Abstract

Results are shown of an experimental study of heat exchange during mixed flow of air in pipes for two types of inlet devices: a conical duct, a Vitoshinski nozzle. The boundaries of the transition region with respect to pipe length and Reynolds number are determined for both inlet devices. The feature of heat exchange in the transition region are described with emphasis on the variation of the Reynolds number's power exponent.
