Study of the Friction Coefficient during Rolling as a Function of Certain Technological Parameters,

Abstract

The dependence of the friction coefficient on various factors during rolling is a problem of great importance in the theory of rolling. Its explanation is very significant in solving practical problems. It is not possible to establish the dependence of the friction coefficient on specific pressure, slip rate, and rolling temperature individually inder operational conditions, since these factors are interrelated. An attempt was made to show these dependences by simulating rolling conditions on a specially constructed unit. (Author)
