Pneumatic Computer for Control of the Process of the Dehydrogenation of Butane into Butylene,

Abstract

A pneumatic computer for controlling the dehydrogenation of butane to butylene in a fluidized bed is described. From the input parameters the computer was used to calculate the concentrations of butylene and 1, 3, butadiene in the reaction gas, along with the flow rates and from these control the process. The computer also determined the optimum values of temperature and the level of the fluidized bed in the reactor for controlling the dehydrogenation process. (Author)
