New Opaue Zirconium Glazes for Structural Ceramics,

Abstract

Today several types of zironcium-containing glaze have been developed, but the majority of them are refractory or contain some-what expensive and comparatively deficient components. At the Department for the Technology of silicates of the Riga Polytechnical Institute and in the Vilnius branch of the Kaunassk Polytechnical Institute the following new types readily fusible opaque zirconium glazes have been developed: silica; aluminosilicate; aluminoborosilicate; and aluminosilicate phosphate.
