Surface and Bulk Band Structure Investigation by Slow Electron and Photo Electron Spectroscopy on Possible Electronic Device Material.

Abstract

Briefly summarized is research designed to study the effect of the details of crystal surface structures on the interactions of light and electrons with crystals. In particular, Low Energy Electron Diffraction was used to characterize the surface of the crystal being studied, while the details of electron scattering was studied for both external electrons (LEED) and internal electrons generated by the photoelectric effect. In addition, the effect of inelastic scattering processes on both types of electrons was investigated. (Author)
