Dagger Fusion of Metals with an Electron Beam,

Abstract

It has been shown that, when welding with the dagger fusion and electron-beam treatment of metals, the energy transmission of the electron beam to a solid is accomplished by periodical thermal shocks. A thermal shock takes place at a certain depth on the surface of the body in the maximum energy release zone of the retarding electrons. There is proposed a temperature field equation, the action describing a three-dimensional heat source with an intensity, rising according to the Gaussian law, from the body's surface and reaching a peak at a certain depth.
