Report of Linac Operation.

Abstract

The operation and use of the NRL 60-MeV Linac is described for the period 1 January - 31 December 1971. Highlights of the basic and applied research program are reviewed, including electron scattering, neutron-capture gamma-ray measurements, and a number of applications. Total time for the period was 3697 hours, divided into 2992 hours for beam and set-up time (including 302 hours for outside users), 560 hours devoted to maintenance and improvements, and 145 hours lost to breakdowns. A bibliography is included, as are brief descriptions of linac use by other groups. (Author)
