Old Gold Model, Type 4-2H Hot-Wire Anemometer and Type 2 Mean-Product Computer,

Abstract

A two-channel constant-temperature hot-wire anemometer and mean-product computer are described. The anemometer section of the instrument generates linear signals proportional to the instantaneous components of the velocity. The signals are processed by the mean-product computer which is a complete analog multiplier for computing the product of two signals. Included with the mean-product computer is an integrating analog-to-frequency converter which when connected to an electronic counter gives a digital display of the mean product. Operating procedures, instrument calibration, and circuit descriptions are presented to aid in the application of hot-wire anemometry for measuring flow velocities. (Author)
