A Survey of the Presentation of Technical Data for Maintenance.

Abstract

The paper presents the results of a survey conducted in the area of maintenance information communication. The structure of the conventional technical manual is described, as well as attempts to overcome its faults. The military maintenance technician and his environment are discussed to better explain the role of technical manuals in maintenance support. New concepts and techniques for presenting maintenance information are surveyed, and recommendations are made for future research in the area. (Author)
