A Simple Technique for Generating Nitrogen Atoms.

Abstract

It has been found that up to 1% nitrogen atoms can be generated by passing nitrogen gas over the heated filaments of a conventional 1000 watt projection lamp. It appears that the filaments must attain a minimum voltage and temperature for the production of nitrogen but these conditions can readily be achieved by a variable voltage transformer. (Author)
