The Effects of Waste Disposal in the New York Bight. Section 6. Surface and Bottom Water Movement.

Abstract

The report describes results of studies conducted to obtain data to assess the effects of waste disposal on the marine environment of the New York Bight. It concerns hydrographic studies, including surface and bottom water circulation and temporal changes in the area as inferred from density patterns, surface and bottom drifters, direct current measurements, and by analysis of physical characteristics of the water masses.
