Instrumentation of M/V Stewart J. Cort Lake Trials Data.

Abstract

An instrumentation system has been installed aboard the 1000-foot Great Lakes ore vessel, M/V STEWART J. CORT. The objective is to determine ship structural response to the seaway. A brief description of the system is presented, and the data acquired during lake trials in July 1971 are discussed. Moderate weather conditions resulted in relatively low amplitudes of stress variations.
