The Thermal Rearrangement of Pi-Cyclopentadienyl-Pi-dicarbollyl Derivatives of Cobalt.

Abstract

Vapor-phase rearrangement of (Pi-C5H5)Co(Pi-(3)-1,2-R2-B9C2H9), R=H, CH3, R2=(CH2)3 at 400-700C produces all possible isomers formed by migration of the cage carbon atoms over the polyhedral surface. The separations and physical properties of the various isomers are discussed. (Author)
