Abstract
Recent experimental results on the behavior of crystal surfaces on the atomic level are reviewed, together with the appropriate experimental methods. Special emphasis is placed on the following topics: (1) Surface energetics, (2) Atomic arrangement and vibrations, (3) Observation on individual atoms. (Author)
