Microstructure and Fatigue Properties of Aluminum Base Alloys.

Abstract

The microstructures of Al-3 wt. % Cu, Al 2024 and Al-6.5 at. % Zn alloys were studied as a function of aging temperature and time. The interaction of moving dislocations with precipitated particles and the generation of dislocations from particle-matrix interfaces were related to flow stress and fatigue life. (Author)
