The Design, Construction and Operation of the Magnet for Stabilized Arc Experiments.

Abstract

The report contains information relating to the design, construction, and operation of a cryogenic pulse magnet of 6 inch bore (7 inch winding I.D.), 16 inch winding O.D., and adjustable length up to 26 inches. In its highest field configuration the magnet is capable of generating a peak field of 140 kilogauss when powered by its 5-MW, 12,500-amperes, 400-volt rectifier power supply. (Author)
