Guidelines for Generating and Using Electric Power During Prolonged Emergencies.

Abstract

The objective of the project is to prepare a manual of guidelines for developing electric power by expedient means during a prolonged failure of commercial power. Engineering tests have shown that engine-generator sets can be connected easily and safely to the power distribution system of a facility, or, if engine generators are unavailable, induction motors (which are widely available) can be used to generate electric power.
