Design of Foundation Beds on Thawing Ground According to Deformational Limits (K Raschetu Osnovanii Fundamentov na Ottaivayushchikh Gruntakh po Predelnym Sostoyaniyam),

Abstract

The new method for estimating the thawing beds according to deformational limits has considerable practical importance because it expands greatly the limits of using soils as natural footings, taking into account their combined functioning with the design of structures; it permits one to plan buildings and structures on such greatly compressed and settling soils as the thawing frozen soils, loess-like settling, filling, silty etc., where previously extensive use was made of expense artificial footings.
