Long-Life, Broadband, Common-Base, 30 to 80-MHz VHF Stages.

Abstract

Most effort during the reporting period was directed toward the fabrication of devices, measurement of transistor input and collector load impedances, and the design and development of common-base bradband amplifiers. Two 30- to 80-megahertz common-base bradband amplifiers, a 10-watt single-ended and a 40-watt push-pull, were constructed. Broadband transmission line transformers were also employed as input and output matching networks in both amplifiers. Results show that stable operation in the VHF range can be achieved in broadband 30- to 80-megahertz common-base amplifiers under matched load conditions. (Author)
