Soviet Cybernetics Research: A Preliminary Study of Organizations and Personalities

Abstract

The report was prepared as the first part of a preliminary study of Soviet cybernetics and deals specifically with the past and current activities of two of the pertinent Soviet organizations and their personalities. The preliminary study, designed to give an overall broad outline of these activities, is a prerequisite for subsequent studies concerned with analyses of specific theories, systems, or devices generated by Soviet cybernetics, and ultimately with the significance of cybernetics in Soviet society.
