Matrix Method for the Calculation of Ion Tracks Admittance of the External Beam of the IAF Cyclotron in Bucharest,

Abstract

A matrix method is given for describing the movement of ions through various elements of transportation (electrostatic lenses, deflecting magnets with straight and slanting angles of edges, quadrupole lenses, connected by straight lines, sections free from the field). Matrices are determined for all the elements encountered in practice. MITRA and MITRAD programs are developed for the SDS-OIYaI computer. On the basis of the laboratory findings the admittance of the IAF cyclotron in Bucharest is calculated. (Author)
