Free Volume and Equation of State of Fused Salts,

Abstract

Statistical theories of fused salts (correlation function, cell model, and significant structure theories) were reviewed. A new version of the free volume theory, applied to ionic liquids is presented. The calculated coordination number in the 1st sphere of coordination, temperature-dependent of the free volume, and heat capacity of alkali metal halides are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.
