Hadamard Transform Spectrometer
Abstract
A Hadamard Transform Spectrometer is described. This multiplexing spectrometer is based on a 127 square cyclic Hadamard matrix. A resolving power of 0.1/cm is achieved with a multiplexing gain factor of over five-fold in signal-to-noise ratio over use of a conventional single exit slit. A procedure for calibrating an infrared prism spectrometer plots drum numbers and wavelengths as ordinates against a trigonometric function of the index of the prism, as parameter and abscissae. The calibration data yields a straight line so only calibration data for two wavelengths is necessary.
