Repair Clamp, Emergency, Collapsible Tank, Petroleum

Abstract

The report covers an investigation of deficiencies of mechanical repair clamps which provide an emergency repair of small fuel leaks in collapsible fabric fuel containers. Manufacturing control of the clamp in accordance with specified design is reported as sufficient to eliminate the need for further design change. The report discusses a rubber gasket meeting requirements which will serve as an effective gasket. Fabrication control of the clamp hinge joint is critical to maintain dependability of the clamp.
