Studies in Information Systems. Procedures for Analysis of Information System Effectiveness. A Working Manual

Abstract

The manual is a working document to assist in evaluating a variety of information processing activities. A generalized procedure is outlined to assess the capability of an information system to meet functional, user-oriented requirements. A composite overview is proposed which will be the basis of a systematic approach to information system evaluation. Stress is placed upon identification of tangible benefits and measures of effectiveness. Refinement and standardization of the approach are anticipated on the basis of experience in applying its phases to systems operating under differing circumstances.
