Infinite Composition of Mobius Transformations

Abstract

A sequence of Moebius transformations (t sub n) sup infinity n=1, which converges to a parabolic or elliptic transformation t, may be employed to generate a second sequence (t sub n).sup infinity n-1 by setting (T sub n)=(t sub 1),...(t sub n) The convergence behavior of (T sub n) is investigated and the ensuing results are shown to apply to continued fractions which are periodic in the limit.
