Optimization of Multimode Servomechanism with Adjustable Initial Conditions.

Abstract

A study of a multimode third order instrument servomechanism is presented. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of the initial condition of a compensating network, switched in as the system enters a linear operating mode, upon the behaviour of the output. The optimum values for the initial condition as a function of velocity and acceleration of the servomotor is derived, using the integral squared error as a criteria. The results are confirmed with a computer simulation. (Author)
