Pyrolytic Degradation of a Phenylated Imide-Quinoxaline Copolymer,

Abstract

Three batches of PPIQ, a polyphenylimide- quinoxaline copolymer, were prepared differing in molecular weights and polymer chain endings. Their thermal degradation in vacuum and air was determined by isothermal weight loss measurements. The temperature coefficient of thermal degradation in air was independent of molecular weight. The temperature coefficient was also independent of the type of polymer end-groups. (Author, modified-PL)
