Device for the Determination of the Stability of Stance and the Fine Adjustments to Body Equilibrium.

Abstract

The stabilograph was used to study the stability of stance of a group of healthy subjects. Based on this study the following parameters were found to be most important: frequency of fluctuation of the center of gravity of the human body in the sagittal and frontal planes, mean amplitude of these fluctuations, mean maximum fluctuation amplitude, and the ratio of the mean fluctuation amplitude with the eyes closed to the mean amplitude with the eyes open. The obtained data represents the first steppingstone toward the utilization of the stabilographic technic in clinical practice. (Author)
